I-287 Corridor Vanpool Demonstration Project: Mid-Project Report

Excerpt from the report: "After eighteen months of a project that began in October 2002, MetroPool can report that we are on-track to achieve the goal of 75 vans at the end of the three year I-287 Vanpool Demonstration Project . Of greater value however may be the ‘lessons learned’ in the first half of the Project.  With the encouragement of NYS DOT we’ve taken full advantage of the ‘Demonstration’ in The I-287 Demonstration Project.  Our approach has been aggressive, persistent, flexible, inclusive and entrepreneurial – we’ve explored, learned, shifted and produced.  We’re well on our way to a successful vanpool program ‘model’ that could be expanded, extended and/or replicated elsewhere."
